Waiting upon the Lord

What does it mean to wait upon You, Lord?

(It means to) to wait in silence for Me alone, and quietly submit to Me, for your hope is in Me.  Trust confidently in Me at all times, pour out your heart before Me, for I am your refuge. I favor those who fear and worship Me, who wait for My mercy and lovingkindness.

(It means to) surrender to Me and wait patiently for Me. Don't be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in his way... let go of anger and leave rage behind. Trust in Me with all your heart, and don't rely on your own understanding.

What are the benefits?

Your strength will be renewed when you wait in hope in Me. I'll teach you the right way to live. Just being with Me will bring you complete happiness. And I will answer you. I am your help and your shield. Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame!

Ps 62:5; Ps 62:8; Ps 147:11; Ps 37:7-8; Prov 3:5; Is 40:31; Ps 16:11; Ps 38:15; Ps 33:20; Is 49:23

Unwavering Faith

Don't doubt Me. When you doubt, you're like a wave in the sea that's blown up and down by the wind. You're thinking two different things at the same time, undecided. Don't expect to receive what you're asking Me for when that happens.

When you start to follow Me and then look back, you're putting off My kingdom till tomorrow.

You can't please Me without faith. When you come to Me (in prayer), believe that I AM real and I will reward you for your sincerity. Ask Me for what you want, and believe that you've received it! Don't be like those who are always changing...influenced by everything they hear from deceivers. Speak the truth with love. Grow to be like Me in every way.

Stay joined to Me, and I'll stay joined to you. You can't produce fruit on your own. Stand strong, and don't let anything change you. Give yourself fully to My work, for it is never wasted

Why am I going through this, Lord?

My child, do not be surprised at the painful test you are suffering, as though something unusual were happening to you. Your troubles have come in order to prove that your faith is real. Your faith is worth more than gold. That’s because gold can pass away even when fire has made it pure. Your faith is meant to bring praise, honor and glory to Me. This will happen when I return.

What should I do? I feel so powerless!

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. Be joyful because you have hope. Be patient when trouble comes, and pray at all times.

I don't understand how anything good can come out of this...

After you have suffered a little while, I will restore, support, and strengthen you, and I will place you on a firm foundation. I cause everything to work together for the good of those who love Me.

What goes into someone’s mouth does not make them ‘unclean.’ It’s what comes out of their mouth. Ask Me to help you control what you say.

(Remember the example of Moses:) The people upset him, and he spoke without stopping to think. (When they complained,) Moses said to them, “Listen, you who refuse to obey! Do we have to bring water out of this rock for you?” Then he raised his arm. He hit the rock twice with his walking stick. Water poured out. And the people and their livestock drank it. But I spoke to Moses and Aaron. I said, “You did not trust in me enough to honor me. You did not honor me as the holy God in front of the Israelites. So you will not bring this community into the land I am giving them.”

Careless words stab like a sword, but wise words bring healing.  No one has ever been able to tame the tongue. It is evil and uncontrollable, full of deadly poison. Words of thanksgiving and cursing pour out from the same mouth. This should not happen! Put these things out of your life: anger, losing your temper, doing or saying things to hurt others, and saying shameful things. Don’t lie to each other.

I want you to be holy.

Strength in Weakness

When your heart pounds, your strength is gone, and you are losing your sight, I will listen to your cry and pay attention to your prayer. Cry out to Me when your heart is weak (wherever you are). I will lead you to a rock that is higher than yourself.

My grace is all you need, for My power is greatest when you are weak. Be content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when you are weak, then you are strong.

(Even the apostle Peter, when he started to walk to Me on the water,) saw the wind and was afraid. Beginning to sink, he cried out saying, "Lord, save me!" At once I reached out and grabbed hold of him and said, "What little faith you have! Why did you doubt?"

If you show yourself weak on a day of distress, your faith is too small. (But, good news!) I strengthen those who are weak and tired!  I, the eternal God, am a dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. I will strengthen you with My own great power so you won't give up when troubles come, but you will be patient.

Ps 38:10; Ps 61:1,2; 2 Cor 12:9,10; Mt 14:30 31; Prov 24:10; Is 40:29; Deut 33:27; Col 1:11

Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself. And don't talk much about tomorrow, for you don't know what a day will bring. Surely no one can tell another person what will happen (in the future). The secret things belong to Me. I am great and powerful, and there is no limit to what I know.

Abide in Me. Don't worry about anything, but pray and ask Me for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have. Give all your worries to Me, because I care about you.

Don't worry - I am with you.

Don't be afraid - I am your God.

I will make you strong and help you, and I will support you with My right hand that brings victory!
