The Battle

Your fight is not against human beings... It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.

(Satan) was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies. (In the Garden of Eden, he spoke deceptively to Eve), "Is it really true that God said, 'You must not eat from any tree of the orchard?'" The tempter came (to Me also, when I lived on the earth as a Man) and said, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.”

(Satan appealed to Eve's pride, saying to her,) "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Remember that) all that is in the world— the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes and pride of life— is not from My Father but is from the world. My Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world.

Put on My whole armor, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Do not be ignorant about his scheming. Store up My words, so you won't sin against Me. Surrender to Me! Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Confident Faith

Faith means being sure of the things you hope for and knowing something is real even if you don't see it. Have faith in Me.

(Consider Abraham as an example.) I took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky. Count the stars, if you can.” Then I said to him, “That’s how many children will be born into your family." (Although he was very old and had no children yet,) he believed Me, and I considered his response of faith as proof of genuine loyalty.

Abraham kept believing in My promise. He became strong in his faith, and he gave glory to Me. He was absolutely sure that I had the power to do what I had promised. I accepted Abraham because he believed. His faith made him right with Me. The promise to Abraham and his descendants, that they should inherit the world, did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

Those who are right with Me will live by faith. Hold firmly to the hope you profess, because you can trust Me to keep My promise. I can do all things, and you can do all things through Me, the One Who strengthens you!

Heb 11:1; Mark 11:22; Gen 15:5,6; Rom 4:20-24; Rom 4:13; Rom 1:17; Heb 10:23; Lk 1:37; Phil 4:13

Happy is the person whose sins are forgiven, and whose wrongs are pardoned. Being right with Me does not come from obeying the law. It comes because you believe in Me. It comes from My Father because of faith.

You know that nothing good lives in you - in the part of you that is earthly and sinful. You want to do the things that are good, but you do not (or cannot) do them. (Like everyone else) you are dirty with sin. All the right things you have done are like filthy pieces of cloth. (But) if you confess your sins, I am faithful and righteous, forgiving your sins and cleansing you from all unrighteousness.

Look, I have taken your guilt from you, and I am clothing you in stately robes. I have covered you with clothes of salvation and wrapped you with a coat of goodness, like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding, like a bride dressed in jewels.

I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.

True Peace

With a thankful heart, offer up your prayers and requests to Me. Then, because you belong to Me, I will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. Let the peace that I give control your thinking. If your thinking is controlled by the sinful self, there is death. But if your thinking is controlled by My Spirit, there is life and peace.

It's My own peace I give you, and I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don't be troubled. Don't be afraid. If you listen to Me, you will have security. You'll be safe, with no reason to be afraid. If you love My teachings, you will find true peace, and nothing will make you stumble. I give complete peace to those who depend on Me, because they trust Me. They will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

I, the One Who gives hope, will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in Me. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by My Spirit's power!

Phil 4:6,7; Col 3:15; Rom 8:6; Jn 14:27;  Prov 1:33;  Ps 119:165;  Is 26:3; Is 32:18; Rom 15:13

I give wisdom. Knowledge and understanding come from My mouth. Trust in Me with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.

What seems to be My foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and what seems to be My weakness is stronger than human strength. Store up My Word in your heart, so you might not sin against Me. My instructions are a doorway through which light shines. They give insight to the untrained.

(During my earthly ministry when I taught in the temple,) all the people spoke well of Me and were amazed at the words of grace I spoke. I became for you wisdom from My Father, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. If you lack wisdom, ask Me - I give to all generously and without reproach - and it will be given to you!

Prov 2:6; Prov 3:5; 1 Cor 1:25; Ps 119:11; Ps 119:130; Lk 4:22; 1 Cor 1:30; James 1:5

I hear your cry; I listen to your prayer. Call to Me when your heart grows faint; I will lead you to the Rock that is higher than yourself. I will reach down from on high and take hold of you; I will draw you out of deep waters.

I will bring you up out of a horrible pit of tumult, out of the miry clay, and set your feet upon a rock, steadying your footsteps and establishing your path. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you.

I am merciful, the source of all comfort. I comfort you in all your troubles so that you can comfort others. When they are troubled, you will be able to give them the same comfort I has given you. Let My promise revive you and comfort you in all your troubles.

Ps 61:1,2; Ps 18:16; Ps 40:2; Is 43:2; 2 Cor 1:3,4; Ps 119:50

I am working in you to help you want to do, and be able to do, what pleases Me.  In yourself you aren't able to claim anything. The power to do what you do comes from Me. You can't receive anything unless it has been given to you from heaven.

Every good and perfect gift is from above; it comes down from Me, in Whom there is no variation or shadow cast by My turning, for I am perfect and I never change. It was of My own will that I gave you birth as My child by the Word of truth. You are My work of art, reborn from above for good works, which I prepared beforehand so you would walk in them.

I make you secure, for even all that you have accomplished, I have done for you.

Phil 2:13; 2 Cor 3:5; Jn 3:27; James 1:17-18; Eph 2:10; Is 26:12

I give strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, I give renewed energy.

No temptation, regardless of its source, has overtaken you that is not common to human experience.  (Perhaps you can relate to the psalmist in these verses:) "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me?... Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and billows have gone over me."  "I cannot stand straight but keep my head down. I have sorrow all day long for my body is filled with burning pain. There is no strength in my body. I am weak and broken. I cry because of the pain in my heart."

My Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do My will. Then you will receive all that I have promised.

I give strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, I give renewed energy.  My grace is enough for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. You may experience sorrow for the night, but joy arrives in the morning. And I am faithful: I will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial I'll also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.

No Greater Love

I am so rich in mercy, and I love you so much, that even though you were dead because of your sins, I gave you life when I rose from the dead. It's only by My grace that you have been saved. You have been raised from the dead along with Me and seated with Me in the heavenly realms, because you are united with Me. I am so rich in kindness and grace that I purchased your freedom with My blood and forgave your sins.

You have been saved by grace because you believed. You didn't save yourself - it was My gift! Salvation isn't a reward for the good things you've done, so you can't boast about it. You are made right with My Father through faith, not by obeying the law.

I saved you and called you to live a holy life. I did this, not because you deserved it, but because that was My plan before the beginning of time - to show you My grace. You are united with Me...I made you right with My Father, made you pure and holy, and freed you from sin.

You are My masterpiece, created anew in Me so that you can do the good things I planned for you long ago. My faithful love is higher than the highest clouds in the sky!

Serving Others

(When I lived on earth) I had no place to lay my head. Although I was rich, I became poor for your sake, so that you could become rich through my poverty. I gave up everything - even My place with My Father. I accepted the role of a servant, appearing in human form.

(Remember how, during supper with My disciples,) I poured water into a basin and began to wash their feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around Me. (Afterwards) I said to them, "Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you." (The very next day) I was handed over to be crucified. I gave Myself for you - a sweet smelling offering and sacrifice to My Father.

Just as I have loved you, you also are to love others. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
